AWARDS OF MERIT -- The Bearded Collie Club of America, Inc. will offer up to fifteen (15) Awards of Merit to all dogs competing in the Best of Breed competition for deserved recognition of quality breed characteristics, to be awarded at the officiating judge’s discretion. The rosettes are numbered 1 through 15. The distribution of Award of Merit rosettes in the Best of Breed competition at the National Specialty will be as follows: The Award of Merit rosettes are to be awarded in sequential order of the judge’s preference. Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex do not receive Award of Merit placing.
A rosette will be given to those finishing a conformation, obedience or rally title. All ribbons, rosettes and prizes must be claimed at the show/trial. None will be mailed. Dogs must qualify to receive placement awards.
Crufts® Qualifying
A Qualifying Award Card will be presented to the Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex, Best Bred by Exhibitor and all Award of Merit winners. Qualification is valid for the 2010 and 2011 Crufts Dog Shows.
All money from nomination and enrollment fees shall be pooled. The BCCA shall retain 30% for the judge’s fees and/or expenses of the Futurity. The remaining moneys shall be divided as follows:
Best in Sweepstakes: Large Beehive Canister with Lid.
Best of Opposite Sex to Best in Sweepstakes: Two Quart Casserole Dish.
First in each Class: 9” Plate.
Second in each Class: 7½” Plate.
Third in each Class: Soup Bowl.
Fourth in each Class: 8 oz. Tumbler.

Highest Scoring Dog in Regular Classes: 12” Pasta Bowl.
High Combined Score Open B/Utility: 16” Platter.

Prize money to the Classes to be distributed as follows:
A.Prize money for each class to be determined by dividing money by
total number of entries and then multiplying that number by the
number of dogs in the class.
B.If only one entry in class, First will receive the class money.
C.If two entries in class, First will receive 60% and Second will
receive 40%.
D.If three entries in class, First will receive 50%, Second 30% and
Third 20%
E.If four entries in class, First will receive 40%, Second 30%,
Third 20% and Fourth 10%.
Futurity Prizes
Best in Futurity: Engraved Plaque offered by the Bearded Collie Club of America. Monogrammed Towel. Best in Futurity Sash.
Best of Opposite Sex to Best in Futurity: Monogrammed Towel. Best of Opposite Sex Sash.
First through Fourth in each Futurity Class: Monogrammed Towel. BCCA Medallion.
Memorial Challenge Trophies
All Memorial Challenge trophies are offered through the Bearded Collie Club of America, Inc. for competition at its Annual Specialty Show. For permanent possession the trophy must be won three times by the same owner, not necessarily with the same dog, nor at consecutive shows. Memorial trophies no longer circulate with the winner and remain in the possession of the BCCA throughout the year.
Best of Breed: The "LADY," a silver plated Punch Bowl Service with Cups and Tray, in memory of Am. & Can. Ch. Bendale Special Lady, UD and offered by Michele Ritter and Chet Jezierski.
Best of Winners: THE JANE TURNER MEMORIAL TROPHY, a 24” x 14” Rectangular SP Tray, originally offered by Mr. Theodore S. Turner and Irene and Ralph Carson, retired in 1997 and re-offered by Kevin and Bea Sawka.
Winners Dog: THE ANN DARLING MEMORIAL TROPHY, a Bronze Proof of a Bearded Collie and Goose Mounted on Marble, offered by friends of Ann Darling.
Winners Bitch: THE LOIS PUBLICOVER BERNARD MEMORIAL TROPHY, a 24” SP Trophy Mounted on Walnut Base, originally offered by Dr. Thomas L. Bernard.
